File Extension Bup

The BUP is a file extension that a power media/DVD/video user may often come across in a computer system. Simply put, in lay man terms, file extension BUP means that this file contains a list of information/data about organization of menus, tracks, subtitles, chapters, etc. on a DVD disk.

I really do love FileCure because it's so easy to use - you don't have to be some kind of computer guru to get just what you need!

Plug and play? Not even close. I spent a lot of time trying to get my new, so-called 'plug and play' scanner to work. I was about ready to take it back. ParetoLogic FileCure got it working and saved me a needless trip (and gas!!) back to the store.

I have to admit I'm no computer geek. When something goes wrong, I usually have to call someone to fix it and it costs me a lot of money. When my printer wouldn't work, a friend of mine suggested I try ParetoLogic FileCure a try. I figured it was worth a shot because I was going to have to pay for a geek anyway. I was so happy when it worked... and worked properly!

I figured the graphics card my grandson gave me was broken when I couldn't get it work on my computer. It turns out that I just didn't have the right driver. ParetoLogic FileCure got it workin.

Hello FileCure folks:

I can't thank you enough for this great product. I just bought a new Vista machine and had been having all kinds of problems. First it was my screen and once I got that fixed it was the printer . Finally, my son suggested I try your product. It worked great and continues to keep my computer working. Thanks you.

Reggie E., N. Dakota

I hate paying a lot of money for anything. That's why I buy mostly used computer equipment. Last week I thought I got taken when I bought a scanner. It just would not work. ParetoLogic Driver Cure got it working. With the updates, it makes sure my stuff will keep working and that I don't have to pay more money.

I work at a school so my mom thinks I am some kind of computer whiz. I have wasted so much time trying to get her stuff to work. Our IT guy suggested I try ParetoLogic FileCure. It has been a godsend and has saved me a lot of wasted hours. My mom and I can't thank you enough.

My wife bought me a new Vista system, and ever since I have had problems with some of my hardware. I saw FileCure, and decided to give it a shot. Ever since, the Vista and my hardware have been working great. Thanks!

Nick Shultz, Canberra, Australia

I upgraded my system to Vista, and my printer started to act funny. No error messages, but it just wasn't working quite right. I read that drivers could sometimes be the problem. I looked online and saw FileCure. After downloading FileCure, my printer works great. You guys rock!

The BUP extension refers to a system backup of a DVD-related IFO file. BUP is simply short form of "BackUP". The file with IFO extension found in any DVD (Digital Versatile Disk) usually stores DVD related data like subtitles, tracks, menus, etc. A BUP file is a backed up version of the primary .IFO file on the same DVD disk. The primary IFO file contained in a DVD is named VIDEO_TS.IFO. If this file becomes unavailable or it has become corrupted, such as because of any surface scratch, then the BUP file comes into picture and can be used as backup by appropriate media player software programs. BUP files are usually accessed by your media player software. It may not be necessary to attempt to open a file found with the extension BUP by yourself. BUP files do not appear to be generally encrypted.

More Info Regarding File Extension Bup

A File found with the extension "BUP" can also refer to one of the following file types from appropriate system applications on a computer system:
A. Brother Embroidery
B. CD Indexer
C. PC-Bibliotheck updates file
D. Softcode Tracker Contact Manager backup (no longer in market)

BUP files should be able to be opened by a appropriate DVD media player software application program and it shouldn't be necessary to open them directly by your self. Every actual BUP file will contain very different DVD configuration information each time it is used for on a DVD.

The usual DVD media player software applications that are known to produce and which are able to handle files with an extension BUP are as follows:
1. InterVideo WinDVD from InterVideo Inc.
2. Apple DVD Studio Pro from Apple Inc.
3. Nero ShowTime from Nero AG
4. PowerDVD from CyberLink
5. Nero from Nero AG

To see what is contained in a file with a BUP file extension, you need to use the appropriate software that created the BUP file in the first place. You can also right click on a given BUP file, from within Windows Explorer, scan for an option that says "Open With…" and choose the appropriate DVD media player software in your system, to open the BUP file with.

If you are getting an error message in a dialog box when you double click a BUP file in Windows Explorer, then the file association in the Windows system registry for the BUP file extension type may have become corrupted in your system. To fix the issue in MS Windows, follow the steps given below:
1. Open the Windows Explorer interface.
2. Go to the Tools menu and choose the Folder Options option.
3. Go to the "File Types" tab.
4. Need to scroll down in the "Registered file types:" list until you arrive at the BUP entry.
5. Below the top panel, there exists an option that reads like: Opens With.... By clicking on the "Change…" button, you can choose a DVD media player application on your system which you feel should be used for opening BUP files. Then click Ok two times to return to Explorer main window.

If you are still unable to open files with a BUP file extension, it is possible that, your Windows system registry is corrupted. This can occur if you have installed and uninstalled a lot of software programs over a period of time. You may want to start using any good "registry cleaner" software (like System mechanic) which usually has the option to fix all file extension-related problems, including problems with particular file extension BUP. This is because, all file extension related problems are rooted in the Windows registry actually.
